The truth about the work

This isn't a soft gig. Early mornings. Long days. Some late nights. It's a job that demands responsibility — and rewards the people who show up ready to earn it.

You'll haul crude from wellhead battery sites to terminals, refineries, and midstream facilities. You'll run modern equipment. You'll work with a 24/7 dispatch team that actually answers the phone. And you'll get paid like the professional you are.

"Drivers are our assets, not a cost center. Field managers still haul oil. No ivory tower."

Questions Drivers Actually Ask.

I've never hauled crude. Can I still apply?

Yes. We prefer drivers who want to learn over drivers who think they already know everything. As long as you have your CDL-A, 2 years of verifiable Class-A experience, and your hazmat + tanker endorsements, we'll train you on the crude side.

What does the pay actually look like?

It varies by state, route, and terminal — that's why we don't post a single number. What we can tell you: our compensation packages are highly competitive because we understand drivers are the key to our company's success. Your recruiter will give you the exact numbers for your terminal on the first call, in writing. No games.

What's home time like?

Depends on the terminal and the run. Some of our positions get you home nightly. Some are hitch-based. Your recruiter walks you through the schedule options at your terminal before you commit.

Do you help with relocation?

We offer optional employee housing at multiple terminals — this is a real advantage if you're moving to an oilfield town. Ask your recruiter about your specific terminal's housing setup.

How long does the application take?

The initial application is 5 minutes online. Once submitted, we typically follow up within 24 hours to walk you through the specifics for your terminal.

Are you hiring owner-operators or company drivers?

Both. We run a mix of company drivers and experienced owner-operators. Owner-operators — reach out; we've got competitive lease-purchase options too.

Why should I choose Badlands over another oilfield trucking company?

Three things: (1) We're the largest for-hire crude hauler in the country, so the freight is there and consistent. (2) We invest in modern equipment we actually maintain. (3) Our field managers came up through the driver corps and still haul oil — meaning the people making decisions about your route actually understand your day.
